BEST is hydro-static.
Best out of those 2 are calipers. Digital if you can. Best to be pinched in the morning before any water/food is taken in. ALso you have to know how to pinch correctly. If you can't pinch correctly there is no point in testing. More pinch sites the better for accuracy. 7 points is best.

Well, of the 2 I'm gonna say calipers, although there is a great margin of error, it does give you a good idea of where you respectively are at. You just need to find someone that is good at doing it and always use that person. In all actuality I would much rather use a tape as a guide, the tape measure won't lie to you~!!

DEXA
eta--I see Zomb has already stated that. lol Of those two, I'd say that a competent person doing calipers is many times more accurate than a digital scale. |

I say calipers in the hands of someone that is very experienced with them.
The digital scales have an inherent problem for bodybuilders/fitness/powerlifter types. The more muscle mass you have, the less accurate they are. Whichever system you use, do it first thing in the morning before any hydration or food. |

It will tell you that and then if you do it again in a few minutes its likely to give you another reading~!! Stay Strong~~!!! IPL

I do have a handheld device that I use that, while not accurate, does give pretty consistent readings. It helps me to know that I'm moving in the right direction. |

I have never used a BF scale. My calipers usually gives close to the same reading each time I do it, but it says anywhere from 9.7 to 10.3 and Im pretty sure Im not that low. I know I m not, wish I were though.....
