Default Anyone ever have one side of there body develop larger faster than the other ?

For me its my right side . Despite equal training for both sides , my right side develops faster & responds better. As far as arms / shoulders etc .... I have curbed it by just increasing reps on weaker side . The abdominals on the other hand for me are a little more challenging to isolate individual sides.
During legs raises (hanging or on bench) or crunches etc. . I notice that once I get the good burn going for both sides I also notice that right side (Rectus abdominis) begins to want to take over / slack for the left .......
I end up with a minor burn on the left side & extreme burn on right .......
Frustrating to me because I know that I'm only contributing to the problem by continuing down this current ab routine ...... works great just seems there is a slight uneven development .

Maybe I'm obsessing or just OCD but thought I'd ask . Hopefully I'm not the only wierdo with this .
Thanks

We all have this to some degree, just some folks you can tell more so than others. Usually your dominant side is your strongest as well as the most developed. You just have to adjust your training accordingly to help compensate and even things out. It sometimes becomes a very major problems for some individuals causing muscle imbalances that lead to injuries, and problems~!!! I see athletes dealing with injuries from these type problems all the time, especially MLB pitchers..

So no your not a freak M~!! LOL

Have you tried dumbells for the upper body lifts??? and for legs training one at a time on lifts???

I see this happen alot in people who only use straight bars or any lifting bars and one side lifts higher than the other on each lift compensating for the weaker side.

Aside from regular bench (incline&decline also) DB's are primarily what I use.
I'll use the EZ curl bar for a couple sets to get a good pump & then move over to my 5 sets of 2 different curls from there using DB's.
I have pretty much corrected the prob on everything EXCEPT the rectus abdominis .
I am able to isolate the other ab group muscles via diff exercises but the central abs for me seem to move as one unit pulling my shoulders towards my pelvis. In that crunching movement I'm able to manipulate one side a little more than the other but it seems that I still end up with the right side of the rectus abdominis getting a majority of the workout because like Steve said it seems to want to pick up slack for the slightly weaker side.
Now I have excersizes in my inventory that will isolate the UPPER & LOWER rectus abdominis, but I'm at a loss at how to efficiently isolate or work one particular SIDE of said muscle. Thanks for you guys input.
Believe you me if I can find the answer in a search I woudn't ask.
I just think I need to figure something out for this particular muscle before things get bigger here in the nearby future & BF% goes below 9.75 ...............

Right on , thanks .
A buddy suggested that I might wanna take the 10# ankle weight off the right leg & leave it on my left leg for my hanging & seated bench leg raises .........

You are not a freak bro!!! My left side, including pec, tri and quad develop faster on my left side faster for some reason than on my right, yet my right side is dominant...

I try to train on the hammer strength machines or free weights (dumb bells) to make sure one side doesn't assist the other side, which helps control the growth of one side over the other a bit... Along with nice slow isolated lifts...
