if you go take a look at any of the strongman/powerlifting forums this is a normal type of training..
I personaly train this way also and ive noticed alot of increase in strength and size... if your training higher reps working your way up to heavyer working sets your already taxxed and you cannot perform at your 100% best by the time you get there.. this allows you to warm up nicely and then go balls to the wall with the weight that counts
